Welcome to the Facet Pain demo section. Your neck was built to move. Facets are joints in the neck that control movement. There are many facet joints in the neck, two at each level. They're about as big as the knuckle on you little finger. They have been implicated recently as one cause of chronic neck pain. PainAnswers will help you decide if one of these joints is causing your pain.
Start by moving the mouse over the head, neck, and shoulder on the right side of the body. As you do this, an area will highlight. Does this match the distribution of your pain? If so, single click that area and hold down to find out which joint might be painful. The information listed shows the joint that refers pain to this area of the body. Even though these joints are in the neck, they can send pain signals as far away as the upper back and shoulder.
PainAnswers will give you much more information about facet joints and other possible causes of your pain.
